On Wednesdays during the cold winter months of January and February, the Philmont Public Library will have an assortment of homemade soups available for their Winter Soup Sale for a donation of $4 a pint or $6 a quart. Orders will include bread and fruit, and there will be at least 4 different homemade varieties every week. Donations will benefit the library cultural center fund.
Library hours on Wednesday are 1-5PM and 6-8PM. Soup will be available from 4-6PM.
During an unannounced sneak preview at the library on Wednesday, the soups went fast as patrons were greeted at the door with the enticing smell of homemade soups. To see the updated soup schedule, check out the soup calendar.
If you would like to make soup, call Karen at the library at (518) 672-5010 for details.
The soup sale ended on February 7th in order to accommodate the installation of stairs to the 2nd floor. The soup sale was a wonderful success, raising over $1000 for our Cultural Center Fund. Special thanks to the staff of the library, our volunteers, the soup makers, and the patrons who supported the soup sale.
