‘I Want to Surprise You and Me’: A display, discussion and slideshow presentation of the artwork of Walter Gurbo

Walter Gurbo is an artist who uses many forms of expression. Primarily a painter but also for many years a well known illustrator with the Village Voice, NY Times, Playboy, Psychology Today, MS, Esquire and many other publications.

At the same time exhibiting in galleries in N.Y.C.,Japan, Puerto Rico and upstate NY. Gurbo, a graduate of the High School of Art and Design in NYC and Pratt Institute. He then went on to teach at The school of Visual Arts. His sculptures and videos have also been exhibited widely.

Now a proud resident of Philmont NY in his beautiful new studio he is producing one new series after another.

The show at the Philmont Library will include some old and some very new. It will give a glimpse of the variety and range of this very prolific artist.
