November 2, 2022 | Climate Smart Task Force $10,000 grant application has been awarded.

In response to the Philmont Climate Smart Task Force’s grant application and in recognition of the Task Force’s actions over the past year to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, Philmont has been granted a $10,000 award from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) Clean Energy Community Program.
The grant award will fund a comprehensive energy study of Philmont’s Village Hall, Community Center, and Water Treatment Facility. The report generated will identify energy upgrades that will save the Village money on energy costs and reduce greenhouse gases. These will be targeted upgrades that will produce positive outcomes for the village and the environment. A win-win. Thank you, Philmont’s Climate Smart Task Force!
The energy audit will be conducted in early 2023 by L&S Energy Service, a customer-focused, efficiency-driven consultancy company.
Melanie McMahon, Philmont’s project leader from NYSERDA for this grant, will be working with our village clerk, Jessica Thomas, to administer the grant. Thank you, Melanie and Jessica!
