Village Government

Philmont is governed by an elected Village Board, consisting of a mayor and four trustees.

Role of the Board

The board represents the legislative and executive branch of the government management of the village. The Mayor does not vote except in instances of a tie.

Terms & Elections

Elections are held in March during odd-numbered years, and all positions have a two-year term. Two trustees are up for election at a time.

Winter Village Laws: No on-street parking from midnight to 6am, Dec. 1 - Apr. 1. Sidewalks that are not cleared of snow and ice 24 hours after a storm will be cleared by the village at a cost of $2 a linear foot to the property owner of the adjoining premise. Read the local laws.
